The COA is suing Amar Benyekhlef and… journalists

DIA-December 31, 2021: The Algerian Olympic Committee (COA) has decided to sue the former national judo coach, Amar Benyekhlef for having made comments against the COA, in particular after his decision to withdraw his athlete, Fethi Nourine, a fight at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo to avoid facing the judoka of the Zionist entity. The affirmation was given by the El Heddaf-TV channel.

Benyekhlef was very critical of the COA, which the head of delegation to the Tokyo Olympics (2021) had shied away from when it comes to making the decision whether or not to face the Jewish judoka.

As a reminder, Amar Benyekhlef and his athlete were honored in Algeria for their courageous and responsible position not to face the Israeli judoka, thus espousing the political positions advocated by Algeria.

To everyone’s surprise, the COA decided to go for Amar Benyekhlef who, it should be remembered, worthily represented Algeria for having won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 in addition to other African titles. This is how the COA rewards those who honor Algeria.

The COA not only sued Benyekhlef, but also decided to prosecute journalists who criticized the negative results of Algerian athletes at the Tokyo Olympics last summer.

However, the COA should not have brought all these beautiful people to justice since the Algerians’ results at the Tokyo Olympics constitute a real shame for the country with zero medals. The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had qualified these results as “negative”, which should have led the COA not to be agitated to attack Benyekhlef and journalists.
