The first semester of the year 2022 will be very busy in terms of sports events! Discover the calendar richly endowed with the meetings that Caen and its agglomeration will host.
February 9: Mondeville meeting
Disputed behind closed doors last year, the Mondeville athletics meeting hopes to find its audience again this year! He rose in rank and will fight huge battles, especially in the sprint disciplines, at the Halle d’Ornano.
February 19-20: Caen BMX Indoor
The Parc des Expositions will once again be the scene of a large BMX rally. Each time, the event mobilizes around 1,500 pilots from all over France and abroad. He will make his comeback after two blank years.
February 14-23: Tournament of France
The second edition of the French tournament will take place in Caen and Le Havre. The Ornano stadium will be the scene of three international women’s football matches. The precise schedule has not been released but there is every reason to believe that France will play at least one game. Brazil, the Netherlands and Finland are the other invited nations.
March 13: Duathlon de Caen
Before the triathlon, make way for his little brother! The Caen duathlon promises a high level around its two events, running and cycling.
March 21-27: Tour de Normandie cyclist
Canceled for the past two years, the Tour de Normandie hopes to finally blow out its 40th birthday. The arrival will take place in Caen, as tradition dictates.
March 19 – April 24: D1 ice hockey playoffs

April 23: Jean-Pingeon Tournament
It will be the party again for the young footballers of the region! More than a quarter of a century after its creation, the Jean-Pingeon tournament remains a benchmark in the U11 category. Small local clubs and professional structures from all over France are found on the Venoix complex.
May 7: last home game for SM Caen

15-20 mai : Normandy Channel Race
The Class40 will once again be well represented for the 13th edition of the event. The start and return of this double-handed race will take place in Caen. Participants will have to complete 1000 miles in the English Channel and the Celtic Sea.
May 14-21: High School
These school Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring together 5,000 high school students from 80 countries in Normandy. Caen will be entitled to three events: archery at the Venoix stadium, athletics at the Hélitas stadium and swimming at the Nautical Stadium.
June 4-5: Rugby Sevens Military World Cup

June 2-5: Freedom Marathon
Canceled in the last two years, the Marathon de la Liberté will once again celebrate running, with a marathon, but also a half-marathon, a 10 km race, the Rochambelle and the Foulées de la Liberté for children. .
June 24-26: French Elite Athletics Championships
After the French U21 Championships, elite competition is taking shape at the Hélitas stadium in Caen! The sizes of French athletics will be there before the world championships three weeks later. Several local athletes should be on the party including Flavie Renouard, who will try to keep her title in the 3000 meters steeplechase.
July 1-3: Meeting of Liberty
The event brought together 400 swimmers last summer. They will still be numerous at the Nautical Stadium in Caen this year. A fine line-up should be there, as the Canadian delegation will be in Caen in July to prepare for the Commonwealth Games.
