Tennis legend Chris Evert announced that he has ovarian cancer | Winner of 18 Grand Slams, marked an era with Navratilova

the american Christine Evert, former number one in the world, 67, announced this Saturday that it has ovarian cancer and for that reason he will undergo chemotherapy treatment.

Through his social networks, who currently works as a television commentator communicated the news and clarified that the diagnosis was “detected in time”.

“I wanted to share my stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis and the story behind it as a way to help others.” marked the rhythm of the women’s tennis circuit together with the Czech Martina Navratilova.

In that sense, Evert said she felt “very lucky that they caught it early” adding that he expects “positive results” from his chemotherapy plan.

Throughout his career, Chris Evert won 18 Grand Slam titles (7 Roland Garros, 6 US Open, 3 Wimbledon and 2 Australian Open), in addition to being the first tennis player to reach 1,000 victories. As if that were not enough, he was also ranked number one in the world on 5 different occasions.
