Tennis – knitter wins starting game

With Dominic Stricker, media interest is not as great as with Novak Djokovic. Stricker has been in Australia for a long time. He is currently competing in a qualifying tournament for a place at the Australian Open.

In the qualifying tournament Dominic Stricker (ATP No. 243) won his first game against the Egyptian Mohamed Safwat (ATP 214). In the second round, Stricker meets 34-year-old Australian Matthew Ebden (ATP 237).

Thanks to his good results last year, Stricker can take part in the qualification tournament. Last year, Stricker moved up the ATP rankings. At the beginning of 2021 he was ranked 1168 and at the end of the year 246th. To be able to participate in the Australian Open, Stricker has to win his next two games.
