Tsitsipas’ path to the semi-finals
Let’s take a look back at Stefanos Tsitsipas’ path to reaching the Australian Open semi-finals. In the first round, he easily beat Swedish Mikael Ymer 6-2, 6-4, 6-3. He had some more trouble in the second round against the Argentine Sebastián Báez, whom he won 7-6 (1), 6-7 (5), 6-3 and 6-4. Tsitsipas also went to four sets in the third round against France’s Benoit Paire, whom he won 6-3, 7-5, 6-7(2), 6-4 before having to face an epic comeback against American Taylor. Fritz in the second round, where he won 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Tsitsipas displayed his best tennis so far in the tournament, giving a real display against the Italian Jannik Sinner, whom he beat 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
