This weekend, the archery club hosted a first interdepartmental adapted sport competition.

On Saturday, the Archers of La Hire, in collaboration with the Arc auscitain, the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport 32 and the Ligue Sport Adapté Occitanie, organized an interdepartmental competition in para archery adapted. A first for the Condomois club, which welcomes the approach in which it has been engaged for a long time. A sports policy already recognized by a label of excellence and three certifications. The “Première Compagnie d’arc de Condom” thus obtained the Excellence label, one of two in the department with the Auch club, one of 10 in the Occitanie region, for 34 in France.

In addition to the Excellence label, the Archers de la Hire have obtained the certifications: “Competition” for the organization of several selective competitions in France each year, “Mixité” thanks to these 42% of female license holders (against 29% at the level of the federation), and “Citizen”, thanks to its offer of regular practice for specific audiences justified by an agreement: sport, health-well-being, school, elderly … Thus the Condomois club is among the elite of the 254 labeled clubs in France, out of 1,600 affiliates.

It is within this framework of promotion and openness that forty fencers came to fight this weekend, coming from eight centers or clubs. This competition was registered as a step before the Pyrenees Zone League Championships which will be held at L’Union. Despite the low temperatures in the gymnasium, very good results were achieved, which could make able-bodied shooters envious. The rankings being related to the handicap, many categories were represented. All the podiums were rewarded despite the sanitary constraints which made it impossible to offer the glass of friendship to athletes. The hosts of the day hope that it will only be postponed. Organizers who were able to count on the mobilization of their volunteers to make this first interdepartmental day of adapted sport a success.
