‘Star Corps’ Yonex badminton team wins first match in Korean League

The Yonex badminton team led by Lee Yong-dae, a leading Korean badminton player, defeated Seongnam City Hall in the first match of the Korean League badminton.

The Yonex badminton team defeated Seongnam City Hall 3-0 with Lee Yong-dae and ‘rookie’ Jin-yong in the first match of the 2022 DB Group Badminton Korean League Men’s General Group B qualifier held at the Hwado Sports and Culture Center in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do on the 21st.

Badminton Korean League matches are played in the order of ‘singles-doubles-singles-doubles-singles’, and 3 singles matches and 2 doubles matches are played, and the first to win 3 wins wins.

In the first match played in singles, Jinyong of Yonex badminton defeated Bang Yundam 2-0 (21-19 21-17) at Seongnam City Hall with an attack that relentlessly digs into the opponent’s gap.

In the second match (doubles), Lee Yong-dae, the best badminton team at Yonex teamed up with Lee Sang-min and defeated Seongnam City Hall Kang Woo-hyuk and Park Seol-hyeon 2-0 (21-11 21-13).

Seongnam City Hall gave up two sets without being able to counterattack against Lee Yong-dae’s top net play.

The Yonex badminton team finished the match without giving away a single set to the opposing team by beating Jeon Hyuk-jin 2-0 (21-16 21-18) at Seongnam City Hall in the third match (single).

The Badminton Korean League, in which a total of 16 business teams participated, will hold a preliminary round until the 9th of next month, the semi-final play-off from the 10th to the 12th, and the championship match from the 24th to the 26th.
