Special vintage Chris Paul – The Olympists

Since the start of the 2021-2022 season, Chris Paul has continued to write his legend with the Phoenix Suns. The leader shines from night to night and never stops smashing records. Focus on the one who occupies an increasingly important place in NBA history.

An accumulation of 20,000 points and 10,000 assists

Does that sound crazy to you? Yet Chris Paul did it! Indisputable member of the “Top 75” of the best players in the history of the NBA, the Point God crossed the milestone of 20,000 points and 10,000 career assists on the night of October 23, becoming the first player to achieve this feat. Oscar Robertson (9,987 assists) and John Stockton (19,711 points) had come close to this record, without success.

  • “Words fail to express what I feel. Later, it’s the kind of thing I’ll be happy to have in my house, to remember this moment “, said Chris Paul after his match.

For now, CP3 is the only player combining 20,000 points and 10,000 assists. But that shouldn’t last. His buddy Lebron James should join him soon. The Lakers winger (36,289 points), needs just over 200 assists to reach the milestone of 10,000 career assists. A goal he should achieve by the end of 2022.

An All-Time Record

What could be better than slamming an all-time feat to set the bar very high? On November 28, nearly a month after entering the NBA Hall of Fame with his accumulation of 20,000 points and 10,000 assists, Chris Paul signed a historic performance to make Michael Jordan and Lebron James jealous. In addition to the victory against the Brooklyn Nets (113-107), the Point God reached the 5,000 rebound mark. Who says short players can’t splurge on the rebound? From the height of his 83 meter, he stands out a little more and definitely puts his name on the NBA shelves. Talented dribbler, efficient scorer, distributor of jewels, rebounder, CP3 can do it all! A unique and insane line of stats: 20,000 points, 10,000 assists, 5,000 rebounds.

Third best passer in the League

Obviously ! Who else but Chris Paul to distill chocolates for his teammates? On November 3, when he planted 13 points and delivered 18 caviars in the victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (112-100), the former Los Angeles Clippers became the third best passer in the NBA. With nearly 10,400 assists, the native of Winston-Salem is now ahead of Steve Nash and finds himself behind Jason Kidd (12,091) and the unreachable John Stockton (15,806). By continuing at this hellish pace and avoiding injuries, CP3 can probably tickle Kidd.

  • “I am grateful and thank God for this opportunity. I say that all the time, not just about being on a team and still being in the league, but just still playing. We don’t take that for granted.«

Matches with 10 assists: CP3 on the podium

Best current record in the League (34 wins / 9 losses), the Suns have a string of victories. Chris Paul treats his partners. On November 20, during the match against the Dallas Mavericks, he distributed 14 assists and thus climbed on the third step of the podium in the number of games with at least 10 assists. 521 games where the altruism of the leader is irreproachable. Again, CP3 sees ahead of him Jason Kidd with 569 games and Jazz legend John Stockton with 863 games. The Master can sleep soundly.

The bench: The Point God does not know

1,119! (as of Dec. 21 – current streak) This is the new all-time record for most consecutive games played as a starter since the start of a career. On December 21, during the huge success over the New Orleans Hornets (136-106), CP3 added a new trophy to its hunting list. No player had chained such a series in the NBA. He now overtakes New York Knicks star Patrick Ewing (1,118) and his friend Carmelo Anthony (1,054).

At almost 37 years old, Chris Paul continues to walk on water and put his name on the shelves of the NBA. An incredible longevity for the conductor of the Suns whose CV is from another world. It lacks only a small ring to be complete. And yes, CP3 is not NBA champion! After a failure in the last Finals lost against the Bucks of a boiling Antetokounmpo, the Point God intends to go get this ultimate trophy. See you on June 2, 2022.
