Sparta has received its desired midfielder. Arno Verschueren initially comes over from Lommel SK on a rental basis, after which Sparta will permanently hire him next summer.
After the exits of Mohammed Osman and Kenzo Goudmijn, it was important for the Rotterdammers to attract a new midfielder. It was already clear that Verschueren was in the picture, but now the transfer has also been completed. After his rental period, the Belgian will be fixed at Het Kasteel until mid-2025.
“It has cost blood, sweat and tears, but the deal is now finally complete,” Verschueren responds to the club channels of Sparta. “I’m really happy to finally officially join here. I think it’s a very good deal, this is just a very nice and interesting club. If you do well here you can move up again. I’m happy that I can play in the Netherlands again.”
Verschueren was a permanent fixture at Lommel, which is active at the second level in Belgium. The youth international also has a past at NAC Breda, where he was a basic player for four seasons.
