Sony Open: Russell Henley still in the lead (-16), Paul Barjon downgrades (54th)

Eight years after his victory at the same Sony Open, Russell Henley is more than ever in the race for a personal title in Hawaii. After his 67 on Saturday (-3), including two precious birdies on holes 15 and 17, the American now points to a total of -16.

Never very comfortable in a leading position after three laps (1/6 career converts) and even confessing to “sleep badly” when he leads, the 56th in the world no longer has a three-step lead like the day before. But he still holds two lengths advantage over Hideki Matsuyama, now second after a very good 63. The Japanese, holder of the Masters, did not drop a single point at this par 70.

Never has the Masters holder played so well over three rounds on the PGA Tour (197 shots) and this is also his 12th consecutive card under 70 on the American circuit (a unique case this season).

Li still on the hunt, Barjon retrograde

In the rest of the top 5, there are four players in 5th place (-14). Runner-up the day before, Haotong remains in the game with his 68. The Chinese is accompanied by Matt Kuchar (67, still bogey-free in the tournament!), Seamus Power (65) and Adam Svensson (65).

On the French side, Paul Barjon continues to lose ground and places on the leaderboard. After losing 13 places on Friday, it lost 17 places on Saturday. After a third round in 71, his heaviest of the week, he now points to 54th place in a total of -5.
