Sebastián Leyton, the steering wheel that would be green

This Wednesday Chilean midfielder Sebastián Ignacio Leyton Hevia, 28, who is about to join Deportivo Cali for this season, presented the medical exams.
If he passes the exams, Leyton will be presented soon by the sugar team, which is looking for other reinforcements for the commitments it faces in 2022.

In addition to defending the title achieved in the last League against Deportes Tolima, Cali will play the Superliga, the Colombia Cup and the Libertadores Cup, in which it will begin its career in the group stage.

Who is Leyton?
Leyton, nicknamed ‘El Viche’, ‘Chita’ or ‘Cañoncito’, was born on May 13, 1993 in Curicó, Chile. He is 1.78 meters tall.
His professional debut was at the University of Chile, in 2011, and from now on he has always made his career in his country.

In addition to the University of Chile, Leyton has played in Curicó Unido, Deportes Antofagasta, Everton de Viña del Mar, Unión La Calera and Deportes La Serena, where he was in 2013 in his first stage and in the last two seasons.

The midfielder has five titles in his record, all of them with Universidad de Chile: three leagues, one Cup and one South American.
Universidad de Chile has been the club that has had the most to do with Leyton’s career. That was where he trained, in the minor divisions, until his professional debut, on April 15, 2011, against Unión La Calera.

One of the technicians who has most influenced his career is the Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, who directed him when he debuted as a professional and in the string of titles that the University of Chile had, including the South American Cup, the most important in the record. of the blue set.
With Deportes La Serena, Leyton is coming off a good season in which he played 25 games and scored 6 goals.

The midfielder was asked by Deportivo Cali coach Rafael Dudamel, who did not direct him when he was at the University of Chile, but he did face him and knows very well the conditions of the recovery midfielder.

Leyton would replace the good midfielder Jhojan Valencia, who would go to the United States League. Valencia would play for Austin FC of Major League Soccer, MLS.

“Dudamel had been following this player since he directed the University of Chile,” wrote southern journalist Rodrigo Arellano on his Twitter account.

If he played with Cali this season, it would be the first time that the Chilean midfielder has performed in the Copa Libertadores, a tournament in which the Verdiblancos will compete and where they hope to have a leading role.

Gutiérrez would join
On the other hand, although it has not been made official, yesterday the link between Deportivo Pereira Aldaír Gutiérrez’s right back to the sugar team would be closing.

Gutiérrez, who was free to negotiate his pass last December, would join Cali for a year with a possible extension.
Cali transferred the right-back Juan Camilo Angulo to Deportes Tolima and remained in that position with the youthful Juan Felipe Francio, so Gutiérrez, who had a good campaign with Pereira, would like the ‘Azucareros’.

“There are good things moving, we need to finalize some issues and we hope to choose the best option,” the 23-year-old Valledupar player had recently said.

Deportivo Cali would be in search of more reinforcements, after reaching agreements for the continuity of Uruguayan goalkeeper Guillermo de Amores, Uruguayan defender Hernán Lessse and Barranquilla attacker Teófilo Gutiérrez.
