Roger Clemens responds after not being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame

It is “all love” for MLB all-star Roger Clemens, who responded in a social media post after being barred from voting in the National Baseball Hall of Fame this week.

On Tuesday, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) voted by mail for this year’s nominees to be consecrated in Cooperstown on July 24, but notably Clemens, Barry Bonds, Curt Schilling and Sammy Sosa – who each failed to receive the minimum 75 percent of the votes, Boston-based CBS 4 reported.

“My family and I put the HOF in the rearview mirror ten years ago. I didn’t play baseball to join the HOF, ”Clemens wrote in a Twitter post Tuesday, encouraging longtime fans. “I played to make a generational difference in my parents’ lives family. So focus on winning the championships while giving back to my community and fans as well. It was my passion. I gave everything I had, in the right way, for my family and for the fans who supported me ”.

“I’m grateful for that support,” Clemens added. “I would like to thank those two who took the time to look at the facts and vote for me. Hopefully, everyone can now close this book and keep their eyes open by focusing on what’s truly important in life. All love!”

Clemens – or “Rocket” as he was known – launched 24 seasons in MLB, most notably with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. He retired in 2007.

Long Red Sox player David Ortiz, who was also in the Hall of Fame ballot and received enough votes to be inducted, said he was incredulous that Clemens and Bonds would not join him.

“Barry Bonds, I don’t think there will ever be another human being able to do what he did when he played,” Ortiz told reporters, while CBS 4 reported. “Same with the Rocket. I don’t even compare myself to them.

“Don’t have them with me, it’s hard for me to believe them, to be honest with you,” Ortiz added.
