Rescheduled Badminton Junior Pan American Qualifier – El Sol de Cuautla

After the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (INDEM) withdrew last week from having any participation in the organization of the National Badminton Qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games to be held in the municipality of Temixco, the event was rescheduled for the end of this month of February.

The event in a first call had been announced to be held from February 9 to 13, however, the date was moved, although not the venue, from February 24 to 27.

The leaders of INDEM released a statement at the end of last week informing that the organization of the event did not approach them at any time, so they distanced themselves from what could happen during the contest.

“At no time was there any approach with the Federation and/or the Association to work in a coordinated manner in the realization of said event, as well as the request to use the image and name of the agency in the convening document.”

“According to the foregoing, INDEM completely dissociates itself from the negative repercussions that could occur on the days of competition,” he said.

Given the situation, the organization had to launch the call again without the INDEM logos, only with those of the host municipality, the State Association and the Mexican Federation of the discipline itself.

The invitation announces that the National Qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games to be held in the Dominican Republic in 2022, will be held in both branches within the Under 11 and under categories (born in 2012 and under), and in the Sub-13 (born in the years 2010 and 2011).

The modalities in play will be individual and doubles in both branches, as well as in mixed (men and women).

Being a federated tournament, the regulations of the Badminton World Federation will be applied in relation to the General Rules of Competition, clothing, anti-doping and competition withdrawals.

It was reported that the Organizing Committee and the referee of the competition will determine the competition system based on the number of participants for the correct performance of the competition.

Four athletes from the Temixquense national will qualify in the singles modality, two in men’s doubles pairs, two in women’s doubles pairs and two in mixed pairs, who will represent Mexico in the “Dominican Republic Jr. Pan American Games 2022”.
