Portaltic.-Huawei GT Runner brings the ‘smartwatch’ to professional athletes

MADRID, 26 Ene. (Portaltic/EP) –

Huawei has presented this Wednesday, together with its P50 Pro and Pocket mobiles, its new model of gt runner smart watch, a professional version of the Watch GT 3 family aimed at professional athletes and runners.

The Chinese brand, which has already sold more than 80 million wearable devices worldwide and has had an annual growth of 31 percent in this segment, has developed GT Runner through its science-based sport analysis system, TruSport, which first contemplates measuring a high amount of data from people.

For it, has analyzed data from athletes running a total of more than 192,000 kilometers, but also those of people practicing other sports such as cycling, climbing, badminton and ping pong, among others. These data, anonymized, have been made available to third parties.

The Chinese brand seeks to solve some of the doubts of the runners, including beginners and according to their objectives, such as the speed at which they should run, training time or need for recovery time before returning to training.

To do this, get a index that measures the quality of the career and that guides the user in their objectives and also in their training methods in a dynamic way through a digital dynamic trainer that establishes personalized weekly work plans for each user.

At the ‘hardware’ level, GT Runner has a 1.43-inch OLED screen with 326 dots per inch (ppi) and high color contrast. Its battery allows autonomy of up to 14 days of use, with support for wireless charging.

GT Runner adapts to the needs of runners, with a 38.5 gram weight, 10 percent lighter, thanks to the use of polymer fiber. Count with one ceramic rim and a crown made of titanium that allows you to use the device with gloves, not only with the touch screen.

Another novelty is TruSeen 5.0+, a new cardiac monitoring system with eight photodetectors, double than usual, and a curved glass back that allows the sensors to be closer to the skin and that reduces outside light interference by 66 percent.

To measure position, use a new antenna with a design in which it is on the outside for a faster and more precise connection with mobile data, to which is added a dual positioning system compatible with Galileo and other systems.

In addition to functions for runners, GT Runner adds other of the brand’s ‘smartwatch’, such as the stress tracking, sleep tracking, and up to 100 additional training modes, in addition to the ‘running’ indoors and outdoors.

The device has a barometer to measure altitude, and connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth, with the option to control music playback and other functions such as serving as a compass, with support for third-party apps in the Huawei App Gallery.

The new Huawei GT Runner smartwatch is already available in Spain from this Wednesday for a recommended price that part of the 329 euros.
