Portais on alternating current

Saturday, a long trip to Lahourcade awaited the Portais. A game at stake because a victory would allow them to hang up the lead car. From the start, the evening promises to be complicated since the visitors suffer and the address flees them. Only Muller limits the breakage. Jancovek takes a time out but nothing helps, the Portais are dominated. The score at the end of the first quarter is far from auspicious (17-7, 10th).

A reaction is expected during this second quarter. Jancovek’s men suffered a 4-0 entry and suddenly, the collective of “red” started again. The address returns for Lavaure, which allows them to close the gap. The locals are struggling to chain their offensive phases and the Lot-et-Garonnais even pass in front at the break on a shot at the buzzer from Barrieu (30-31, 20th).

To maintain this score in the second half, Janvovek’s men will have to be more present during the start of the quarter. Precisely, the start of the third quarter is catastrophic. The locals print their rhythm and sanction sleeping visitors with a 12-0. Despite this, the “red”, lacking short distance skills, rely on long distance shots that allow them to stay in the game (47-43, 30th).

The last quarter will therefore be the justice of the peace of this bizarre meeting to say the least. Another bad start from the Portais allows the locals to take a 10 point lead. The address still flees the Lot-et-Garonnais and prevents them from returning despite offensive rebounds obtained in a very dense defense. The last two minutes saw the gap narrow slightly but the visitors who were not sovereign enough on the rebound left too many second chances. The Portais therefore bow logically to Lahourcade 63-56.

See you next Saturday at the “BCPL Arena” opposite Gotein.
