Paul Onuachu wins the 68th Golden Shoe!

He had hammered it before the ceremony. “Last season was good, this season is going well. So I think I deserve this award one hundred percent.”

His predictions were correct. At the Antwerp Expo, Paul Onuachu won the 68th edition of the Golden Shoe.

The Genkois took advantage of his 29 goals in 33 games last season, the Belgian Cup and his 12 goals in 18 games in this exercise to remove the trophy.

The Nigerian is easily ahead of Noa Lang, second, by 61 points. Charles de Ketelaere finished third.

“I’m a little surprised. Everyone deserved it. Noa Lang is very important for Bruges and Charles is a nice guy. For me and for the Genk club, this trophy therefore means something especially in the face of such competition”, he replied directly.
