Paris 2024: Olympic judo and weightlifting training will be in Nanterre

Nanterre University (Hauts-de-Seine) will also take part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The organizing committee awarded it the label Land of Games and the university will host judo and weightlifting training.

Welcome delegations from all over the world on its territory for the duration of a preparatory course, to welcome them as chainstay during the Olympic Games in Paris is the objective of these preparation centres. 802 places were selected throughout France and the University of Nanterre was named in early January 2022 as part of the second phase of applications in view of the international competition which begins in two years

The sports campus is made up of an Olympic swimming pool, a weight room, a dojo and a boxing room, a dance studio and a multi-sport gymnasium and will house athletes who wish to prepare judo and weightlifting events.

The university campus is not the only infrastructure to have been designated a Games preparation centre. The Chenevreux gymnasium will host handball and break dance training and the Palais des Sports will host basketball training.

Certain sports facilities in the towns of Suresnes, Colombes, Meudon, Boulogne-Billancourt, Asnières, Ville-d’Avray, Levallois-Perret and Bagneux were also selected during this second round of nominations to become preparation centers for the Games.
