Viterbo – Civitavecchia, Smit Roma centro, Pass Roma, Alfa Omega, Virtus Valmontone, San Nilo Grottaferrata, Tiber Roma, Palestrina and even Civitavecchia. These are the nine sports victims of Ortoetruria-WeCom which spends a New Year’s Eve in first place in group B.
For the team coached by Fanciullo the first part of the season was practically perfect with nine wins out of nine and the top of the standings grabbed from the start and never abandoned. San Nilo Grottaferrata follows at -4 but the leaders’ march is unstoppable and eight games from the end of the regular season the leaders can start to think big.
It is forbidden to get distracted, of course. But the result achieved so far is absolutely noteworthy, also because the Viterbo team is the only one with full points in the two groups (in A the San Paolo Ostiense is at 16) and sees in Rovere the best scorer of the championship with 168 points scored. In the top ten there is also Rubinetti, ninth with 122 points.
The return on the parquet, for the biancostellati, is set for Sunday 9 January in Rome against Smit, beaten 78-58 on Sunday 24 October at PalaMalè in Viterbo. It is clear that the goal of the Viterbo players will be to hit the tenth consecutive victory and continue on the same path as last year.
The last day of the regular season, in which Ortoetruria WeCom faces the away match in Palestrina, is finally scheduled for Saturday 26 February.
