Omicron: two Catalan whistleblowers advocate black light against Covid

Ultraviolet to kill germs and disinfect air, water, surfaces and other objects in minutes. The process, discovered in 1802, is as old as the world and still used, especially in operating theaters to sterilize places from floor to ceiling. Two Catalan whistleblowers, Didier Ixart and Philippe Malis, dusted off the decontamination formula, a solution, according to them, almost a miracle to fight the Covid indoors.

A short-wave UV lamp, lower than visible light, to eliminate viruses, bacteria and fungi. “And therefore the Coronavirus in all its variants”, advance two Catalan engineers by bringing to light the discovery of a German physicist whose invention dates back to 1802. “We are hallucinated to see that this curative solution has not found its place in the tools against the pandemic”, deplore the two business managers of a local company who do not wish to put themselves forward.

“We do not recommend UV-C to advertise but to end the health crisis”, pleads the tandem, convinced that everyone has already seen these ultraviolet generators which eliminate viruses, bacteria and molds in a few minutes. “In the past, all hairdressers used these blue light boxes to sterilize their combs and scissors”, remembers Philippe Malis.

More recently Didier Ixart, he noticed it in the dental clinic he frequents in Elne, in hospitals, or even in judo competitions where the national federation requires decontamination of tatami mats with UV-C rays. “These ultraviolet devices make it possible to sanitize the air, water as well as objects and surfaces without opening the windows. They are in fact an extremely effective treatment for the Sars-CoV-2 virus”, assure the accomplices evoking a performance of 99.99% on germs and other micro-organisms.

From hair salons to operating theaters

To hear them, the Covid but also the flu or gastroenteritis among others could be destroyed in a closed environment by these short waves marketed in the form of fixed neon lights, mobile boxes or hybrid tubes. “With a single device costing around 1,000 euros, ten minutes are enough to sanitize a room of 25 m3, hence concert halls like the Zénith which are starting to take an interest in it”, welcome the engineers. Perplexed about the time it will have taken for professionals impacted by the crisis to rediscover the health performance of UV-C. “We are not conspiracy theorists, but it still seems crazy that the government or the High Health Authority have not integrated this technique into barrier gestures”, denounce the Catalans.
