In 2022, our team will be in its fifth year of establishment, marking a milestone year. Three-player basketball is becoming more popular at home and abroad, and the competitive population is increasing day by day.

In 2021 last year, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, activities were restricted due to the inability to do what we wanted, but even under such circumstances, we held various events, participated in competitions, and 3×3 world in our hometown of Karatsu City. It was a very exciting year, with the No. 1 powerhouse, the Republic of Serbia, holding a pre-camp. In addition, the domestic three-player professional basketball league “3×3.EXE PREMIER” also presented “3×3 TOWN AWARD” to the team that “performed 3×3 activities rooted in the community and livened up the hometown”. And the team’s achievements and activities so far were highly evaluated.

Therefore, we have been active in Karatsu City as a home town, but from now on, we will continue to leap forward and grow as a team aiming for the best in Japan and the world from this Karatsu area, and Saga’s professional sports. As a team, change the team name with the aim of strengthening relationships with Saga Prefecture and each city and town in the prefecture, improving sports skills through basketball, and contributing to the community by fostering youth. And, the team name and logo of “LEO BLACKS” with the motif of the phantom Hikiyama “Black Lion” of the local Karatsu Shrine’s annual autumn festival “Karatsu Kunchi” is proud as a team started from Karatsu, and the world I would like to continue to carry out a wide range of activities with the aim of achieving this.

From now on, LEO BLACKS SAGA will continue to respond to everyone who receives new support and support from all the players and staff in order to realize the vision of “From Saga to the world.” I will do my best.

We strongly reflected the element of “Black Lion”, which is said to be the phantom Hikiyama, which was the motif of the team name, and strongly expressed the feeling of not forgetting to give back to the locals.

■ Being aware of the world, I wore a Japanese-style furoshiki pattern on the back. It expresses the enthusiasm of Japan felt at the festival.
