Nba, Brooklyn Nets-San Antonio Spurs

Brooklyn beats San Antonio 121-119 in extra time with the freshman’s basket. Nash’s team implodes when KD stops making a difference

In the first tranche of the most complicated “back to back” perhaps in the history of the NBA (the Nets have to undertake six hours of flight and three time zones to recover the match in Portland on Monday) Brooklyn decides to complicate his life and, ahead of 12 lengths five minutes from the end, he brings the Spurs back into the game, then having to work overtime to go on to win the match, 121-119 in overtime.

advantage

The start is not the best for the New York team who have lost their last five games at Barclays. Walker IV seems irrepressible and signs the first 12 points for the guests, Brooklyn on the defensive level has a lot of effort throwing away the words of Steve Nash (“We must go back to being a dominant team in defense”) in the pre-match and also in attack things they are not very good. A film that has already been seen, especially at home. With the passing of the minutes, however, the Nets find at least a bit of rhythm in attack and manage to keep the pace of the wild Spurs. Mills and the usual Durant take care of it and play the charge, Brooklyn accelerates in the second fraction, also starting to defend with energy and discipline. Murray tries to reignite the attack of the Texan team but the hosts start playing their basketball and take the reins of the game by placing a 19-2 run in the final part of the second quarter, thus reaching the rest ahead 60 -51. Steve Nash’s team seems to want to secure the result at the beginning of the third quarter, also to try to give some oxygen to their owners in view of the Portland game but after a few minutes of excellent basketball Brooklyn returns to being undisciplined and even arrogant. San Antonio thanks him and with an excellent final in the third quarter he returns to -2 placing a break of 18-7. All to be redone for the Nets but, with Durant on the bench, at the beginning of the final stage they decide to rely on Harden who responds with a couple of very heavy baskets. The rookie Sharp gives Steve Nash good minutes, the Nets return to the advantage in double figures but once again they relax their concentration and are punished by the courage of San Antonio.

comeback and grand finale

Too many turnover for the home team allow the Spurs to return below, Primo’s triple at 40 ” from the siren then gives the guests a sensational draw. So we go to extra time with the Nets failing to score in the last four minutes of regular time. Brooklyn is also recovered in the overtime but gives himself the last possession to win the match and the rookie Thomas thinks about taking the shot of the potential success, who, primed by KD, finds the retina a second from the siren. The Nets, so, despite too many mistakes, in the end they breathe a sigh of relief and find the sweaty victory that puts an end to the negative home streak.
