The Quemao Class has been the best possible closing of the year. Two days full of action and excitement with surfers and bodyboarders from all over the world leaving impressive performances in La Santa, Tinajo.

The wave conditions exceeded expectations and the competitors agreed that it was a privilege to be able to compete in this spectacular wave with such perfect conditions.

The Basque surfer Natxo González dominated throughout the event, with brutal performances, scoring two waves out of 10. Not only did he win, he also won the RVCA Best Wave for the best surf wave. He has already competed in previous editions and commented that “I always come to this event to enjoy a wave that can be compared with the best in the world and an incredible place.”

Along with him on the surf podium were French Marc Lacomere, Fuerteventura surfer Tim Elter, and Hugo Ortega, from Barcelona.

There were also athletes of the caliber of the local La Santa Manuel Lezcano and the Basque Aritz Aranburu, who, although he was in the quarterfinals, did not hesitate to express how this is an incredible event and that “we will return to the next edition with more you still want, coming to Lanzarote is a privilege, I like everything here, its people, its food and its waves ”.

The bodyboard competitors were no less, offering an impressive show. The victory went to Lionel Medina, from Gran Canaria, closely followed by local Pablo Lecouey, who also won the award for the best Bodyboard maneuver. Both competitors appreciated the opportunity to compete in an event of this category, with perfect conditions and competitors of such a level.

The bodyboard podium was completed by Aitor Ojeda, from Fuerteventura, and Armides Soliveres, also from Gran Canaria.

In this, its 6th edition, the Quemao Class has once again surpassed itself, offering a unique show in which it is one of the most powerful waves in Europe and paying tribute to the memory of a great surfer such as David Infante “El Fula”.
