MotoGP, Marquez: “I don’t wish anyone what I’ve been through, now I’m happy” – News

It’s been 82 days since Marc Marquez last triumphed in a MotoGP race, ed in these 82 days there has been no shortage of plot changes. When everything seemed downhill indeed an injury and diplopia knocked on Marc’s door, that he had to go down to hell again, in the hope of returning to the heights as soon as possible.

“The accident occurred on a day like any other. I was doing enduro – tells – on a track near my house, when I crashed in a right hand bend and I hit my head. Despite this, I got up and completed the training. I went home and alone after a few hours I started to feel some problems, so I called the doctor, who told me to stay calm as sometimes the problem can go away on its own in a few days. Unfortunately this was not the case, but to aspire to be the best in the world you have to train and take risks ”.

Things have improved markedly today, and you can also see it just from the smile that the 93 sports talking about his situation.

“Now I am very happy, while the last three months have been really tough. Vision problems are never simple, but luckily things got better every day. Since the days following the accident I have slavishly followed the dictates of the doctors: it was a long process, since the same nerve involved in the 2011 injury was involved, which in this case also involved a muscle. This week I did a check, that luckily it confirmed the improvements I felt ”.

The months spent at home have not been easy, so much so that Marc he points out that he would not wish anyone what he has been through.

“Mentally it was one of the most difficult moments of my career, on the other hand we are talking about the fourth winter that I live with physical problems. After the victory at Misano everything seemed to be going well, but then here comes a new injury: you must always remain positive in life, and I do not wish anyone to experience the sensations I have experienced in the past months. From the day of the injury the goal was to be on the track for the first test or the first race, e I believe I am on the right path ”.

And if anyone wondered how does a champion like the Spaniard live without a bike, here is the answer.

“I tried to forget the world, living a normal life with the people closest to me, especially in the first few weeks. Obviously it was difficult, also because with a vision problem it is not easy to live a normal life, but when you get back on the saddle the sensations are perhaps even more beautiful. In any case, precisely because of the problems I have had, I do not wish anyone to live what I experienced “.

Marquez: “The team is preparing a new test”

In any case, the worst seems to have passed, and the first test on a motocross bike carried out in recent days is undoubtedly an encouraging sign.

“I got back on a dirt bike because it was about the same one I got injured with, and it needs a lot of attention, so it was an important test case. Everything has been very positive, so now I think about the next step: the team is organizing a test on a real track, maybe with the CBR that I rode last year to recover from the arm problem ”.

Obviously the thought runs fast at the Sepang tests, for which Marc has not yet made a decision.

“A vision problem is not something you can joke about, or something with which you can think about going out on the track“ to try ”. I would have liked to get in the saddle immediately, but experience taught me to be patient, also because at first not even the doctors had given me a precise amount of time for recovery. Slowly I started moving again, from the bike to the motocross bike, but before saying that I will be in Malaysia I need to do further tests, to be sure that I am really 100% “.

What is certain is that an operation seems to have been averted to date, and that the shoulder also appears to be on the road to recovery.

“Currently it seems that the operation is not necessary, but both me and the doctors want to see the reaction of my vision in a real trace. There are many things to understand before I can get permission to be in Malaysia: if time is not enough to solve the problems I will have to operate, but at the moment the operation seems averted. Shoulder? He is undoubtedly better, but now I need to focus on sight ”.
