Outfielder Melky Cabrera announced his retirement after a 15-year career in MLB.
The 37-year-old Dominican finishes his career with an average of .285, 1,923 hits, 144 home runs and 854 RBIs.
Cabrera played for the Toronto Blue Jays for two seasons, in 2013 and 2014, hitting .293 with 19 home runs and 103 RBIs in 227 games.
The ambidextrous hitter also played for the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Cabrera appeared in the 2012 All-Star Game in his only season with the Giants, batting .346 before being suspended for 50 games for doping.
He ended his career in a Pirates uniform in 2019.
Travis Snider, another former Blue Jays, has also announced his retirement after an eight-year career.
Snider, who turns 34 on Feb. 2, last played in the major leagues in 2015 with Pittsburgh. He spent last season with the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate in Gwinnett and hit .174 with four home runs and 15 RBIs in 138 at-bats.
Snider was the Blue Jays’ 14th overall pick in the 2006 Entry Draft. He hit .244 with 54 homers and 212 RBI with Toronto (2008-12), Pittsburgh (2012-15) and Baltimore (2015).
