JuJu Smith-Schuster: Returning to Steelers would be a blessing

One of the players whose contract ended was the wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who recovered from a shoulder injury to play against the Chiefs. The fifth-year player showed interest in staying with the Steelers during the postgame conference.

“Honestly, it would be a blessing. I love the city, the fans of Coach Tomlin, my teammates and coaches. It’s been amazing, my run here has been amazing. It would be great to stay and play with them. It would be great to stay another four years”, he declared at the end of the game about staying in the team.

Despite only practicing twice after being recovered from the disabled list, Smith-Schuster played 52 of the 68 snaps Pittsburgh’s offense played against Kansas City and caught five of eight throws his way for 26 yards.

Smith-Schuster was selected in the second round of the 2017 Draft after graduating from USC and since then he has played 63 games, 51 as a starter, and accumulated 3,855 yards and 26 touchdowns after 323 receptions.

His most prolific season was 2018, when he was invited to the Pro Bowl after catching 111 of 166 passes thrown his way for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns.
