At the age of 30, Maëlle Di Cintio decided to end her career. La Mosellane, who took her first steps in JC Novéant, is turning the page after twenty years on tatami mats. Becoming a tricolor international, Lorraine, which attended the Espoirs pole in Metz, the France pole in Strasbourg and the INSEP, was the last to be fired at US Orléans.
During her career, she won the French -63 kg champion title four times (2011, 2014, 2017, 2018). Maëlle Di Cintio has also shone on the international scene, with a silver medal at the U23 European Championships in 2013, the year in which she climbed on the second step of the Euro seniors podium in the team event with the Bleues, a world university title in 2013 and six World Cup medals, including four gold.
A career hampered by serious injuries
Her career was also hampered by serious injuries: Maëlle Di Cintio suffered three ruptures of the cruciate ligaments of a knee. Each time, she overcame these setbacks to return to competition. His last fight dates back to March 2019: the Mosellane finished fifth in the Marrakech Grand Prix, a month after a victory at the Sofia Open, in the European Cup.
