Japanese Volunteer Program (JOCV) lends a helping hand – Depeche TARATRA

A volunteer from the Japanese Volunteer Program (JOCV) is currently helping the Madagascan Judo Federation. Iwahori Tomokazu, black belt and third Dan Kodokan, met on Tuesday January 11 with the management committee of the federation in Ivandry. This was the opportunity for the Japanese volunteer to discuss the educational and sporting aspects of this discipline in Madagascar.

Before making his contributions to the development of this sporting discipline, Iwashori Tomokazu allows himself three months of observations of the Malagasy context. This Japanese technician should intervene in Madagascar, with the federation, until 2023.

In addition to this new recruit, another volunteer has already supported Malagasy judo, in the person of Ide Ryugo, in its development. He accompanied the federation from 2018 to 2020 and also led Damiella Nomenjanahary to the last edition of the Tokyo Olympics.
