“He participated in the killing of a 23-year-old with a baseball bat”: arrested in Spain

A 31-year-old was arrested in Algeciras, not far from Gibraltar, held responsible for the murder of Atiljo Ndrecaj, 23 years old of Albanian origin, killed with a baseball bat a Mantua last July 3 in the parking lot of the La Favorita shopping center. The 31-year-old, of Moroccan origin, must answer for voluntary murder and attempted murder: since July he was wanted by the prosecutor and the carabinieri. It was traced, based on information from Italian investigators, by the Guardia Civil in the city where the port from which ferries leave for Morocco is located. In addition to the death of Ndrcaj, the 31-year-old is also accused of the injuries caused to a second boy who was the victim of the attack, Pierfrancesco Ferrari 35 years old. The alleged accomplice of the young Moroccan is a 22-year-old arrested a few days after the fact.

According to the reconstruction of the investigators, Ndrecaj and Ferrari had headed towards the parking area of the mall after receiving a phone call while they were in a bar of Mottella. Once they arrived in the square of the shopping center, which is a few kilometers from their homes, they found themselves in front of four to five people who attacked them with baseball bats (one was found not far from the scene of the attack) and reduced to death. The first call of rescue she arrived just before 3 when a passer-by found the two riversi a terra, unconscious, near a roundabout. The motive of the ambush has never been clarified.
