It may be time to ask the right questions.
As we know, for several weeks now, Pro League meetings (and others) have been behind closed doors. This escapes no one, it is because of the coronavirus pandemic and the arrival in Europe of the Omicron variant.
But what about other countries? In Spain or England, the stadiums are full. In France, we play in front of stadiums filled according to gauges. But if we compared the figures of the different countries?
In Belgium, we are currently at 23,922 cases per 11,000,000 inhabitants, that makes 217 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In England (where the stadiums are full and where you have to be vaccinated to enter), we are at 101,091 cases per 56,000,000 inhabitants, or 180 per 100,000 inhabitants.
???? Why ban fans from going to the stadium and not follow the example of England / Spain who open at 100%?

In Spain (also full stadiums): 144,000 cases for 47,000,000 inhabitants, or 308 cases for 100,000 inhabitants. Finally, in France: 283,308 cases per 61,000,000 inhabitants, or 476 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. As a reminder, in France and since January 15, you must have a vaccination pass to enter the stadiums (and also go to a restaurant or Disneyland Paris).
In view of these figures, we are below the Spanish and French figures (who had supporters in the stadiums) but above the English who play in front of full stadiums. It should be noted that the figures are currently falling in Belgium. What will politicians do in the coming weeks? Suspense….but it is high time to ask the right questions.
