The Bayern hunt is officially open!
Borussia Dortmund sweeps SC Freiburg 5-1 out of their home stadium in the top game. Before the Bayern game in Cologne (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.), the lead is only three points.
In front of 750 fans, Borussia showed its best performance in a long time. The focus is on two who only really blossom under coach Marco Rose: Julian Brandt and Thomas Meunier.
► 14. Minute: After a Brandt corner, Meunier heads in at the first post. 1: 0!
15 minutes later, another Brandt corner rang, and another Meunier header!
► 29. Minute: This time the Belgian jumps the highest in the five-meter area. His header lands untenable for Uphoff in the corner. 2:0!
First the double Meunier, then the double Haaland!
Shortly before half-time, Erling Haaland breaks his small mini-crisis of two goalless games.
► 45.+1. Minute: Bellingham conquers the ball in front of the penalty area, plays on Haaland, who pushes it into the goal. 3:0!
Freiburg captain Christian Günter at DAZN: “That was a blow.”
Dortmund is playing the best half of the season. Again and again, the Rose-Elf appears dangerously in the Freiburg penalty area.
BVB coach Marco Rose: “The first half was extremely strong at times.”
The guests, on the other hand, have no chance, only Demirovic scored the consolation goal (61st).
► 75. Minute: Dahoud gets the ball in midfield and plays on Haaland. He just has to push it in again. For this he gives four kisses to Dahoud!
Shortly before the end, Dahoud made it 5:1 (86th). Dortmund is therefore up to Bayern!
What BVB doesn’t like: Both doubles goalscorer Meunier and Emre Can have to be replaced due to injuries. Also: Dortmund license player manager Sebastian Kehl could not be there after a positive corona finding in the family circle.
