Demonstration of power in the top game against Bonn: Bayern again top of the table

Bayern Munich put things right in the BBL by winning the top game against Telekom Baskets Bonn and is back at the top of the table. After the convincing 100:81 (49:21) it is still tight, the cup winner has 24:8 points on the account, Bonner 24:10 in one game more.

“A very good day in the office,” joked Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri after the strong performance. He was happy “that we controlled the game for almost 30 minutes. It was a team success. We hit shots that didn’t go in in the last home games.” Bayern converted 19 threes.

Bonn, who have had a remarkable season so far under new coach Tuomas Iisalo, gave the hosts an even duel in the first half but gave up after the break. With a 12:0 run to 73:53, Bayern pulled away, after that there was nothing more to gain for Telekom Baskets.

The Munich team showed a solid team performance, in Deshaun Thomas (18 points), Andreas Obst, Vladimir Lucic (both 14), Zan Mark Sisko, Nick Weiler-Babb (both 12) and Corey Walden (10) six players scored double digits. The top scorer of the day, however, was guest player Parker Jackson-Cartwright (30).

In Munich, at the end of the first half of the season, Bonn had already suffered their third defeat in a row, having previously suffered bankruptcies in Crailsheim and against Hamburg. On the other hand, Bayern came back after the slip in their own hall against Chemnitz. The EuroLeague against Baskonia Vitoria/Spain continues on Friday.
