Curry, LeBron and Durant lead the voting

All three veterans are fan favorites thus far.


Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant remained as leaders in the voting for the NBA All-Star Game, which will take place in its 71st edition on February 20 in Cleveland.

Guard Curry, a two-time NBA MVP and three-time champion, who broke the record for triples last month by scoring his 2,974 shot of that type, set the general rhythm with 4 million 463 thousand 426 votes.

Meanwhile, LeBron, the Los Angeles Lakers star, four-time MVP and four-time league champion, was second overall and also led the Western Conference forwards with 4,386,392 ballots.

For his part, Durant, the current leading scorer in the NBA, was the league’s MVP in 2014 and a two-time champion along with Curry with the Golden State Warriors, led the Eastern Conference in general with 4 million 88 thousand 334 tickets.

The team captains will be the players who lead each Conference in the voting, which at the moment remain Durant (East) and Curry (West), who will choose the players voted regardless of the Conference.

Memphis guard Ja Morant moved from third to second in the Western Conference vote for a starting job at that position, while Atlanta’s Trae Young rose to second among the Eastern Conference guards to fill that spot. .

In the West, Morant was second behind Curry with 1,633,313 votes among the guards to overtake Slovenian Luka Doncic (Dallas), who was third with 1,410,605.

Behind LeBron among the forwards in the West are Serbian Nikola Jokic (Denver) with 3 million 16 thousand 380 votes and Andrew Wiggins (Golden State) with one million 829 thousand 733.

In the East, Durant is followed in his forward position by Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo of the reigning Milwaukee Bucks champion.

The vote to decide the headlines for the All-Star Game will include 50 percent of the fans and 25 percent of each of the players and a panel of the press charged with covering the NBA.
