The Denver Nuggets They announced this Friday that have signed DeMarcus Cousins for 10 days, who is still trying to rediscover his best version in the NBA and who had already played for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. The center joined the Bucks at the end of November and with them he played 17 games (5 starts) in which he averaged 9.1 points (46.6% shooting from the field), 5.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.9 minutes per game. Cousins’ tenure with the Bucks, intended primarily to fill the void of an injured Brook Lopez, came to an end in early January when the defending NBA champions opted out of his contract. Now he will have a new opportunity with Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets.

Cousins, 31 years old and chosen four times for the All-Star, stood out in his time in the Sacramento Kings (2010-2017) until becoming one of the best centers in the league. In the 2015-16 season, his best full year with the Kings, Cousins put up 26.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. In February 2017, he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he formed a powerful interior pairing with Anthony Davis. Cousins maintained a very high level with the Pelicans but in early 2018 he had to have Achilles surgery and missed the rest of the season.

From there began Cousins’ difficult journey through numerous teams, with little stability, different injuries and a level far from his best basketball. In the 2018-19 season he played for the Golden State Warriors, the following year he signed for the Los Angeles Lakers but did not make his debut due to injuries, and last season he divided his time between the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.
