Al-Wakrah team doctor Mukhtar Shabaan confirmed after the episode that it was James Rodríguez who best understood the situation as he approached his rival, lying on the grass.
Coulibaly’s message
Well, it was the turn of the player himself to give news about what happened to him, in an extensive message on his Instagram account.

“A long message to update you on my news and thank everyone who kept me here today. On January 9, 2022 I suffered a heart attack on the pitch shortly before the end of the 1st half. Many teams did what it took to revive me immediately after my fall, “began the Malian-born player.
The Colombian was one of the first to notice and approach the player, and his gesture of aligning his head could help make the work of the medical staff on the court more effective.
“Thanks to God and to the work of these heroes I was saved. Thanks to @ jamesrodriguez10 who had the first gesture by taking my head, as well as @saoudalkhater who made signs to return to the medical team very quickly,” he added.
The doctor said of James’s gesture: “He took the important step of adjusting the position of Ousmane Coulibaly’s head just after he had collapsed, so that he could breathe properly.”

For now, more medical details of what will come next for the footballer, who remains at Hamad Heart Hospital, are unknown, and from there he also published a photo in which he raises his thumb and smiles.
