Calendar for 2022 of the International Judo Federation

The Olympic qualifying period for judo heading to Paris-2024 will begin on June 24 and will run until June 23, 2024. The design to reach the city of light will also include some new rules and arbitration, to provide sport with greater dynamism and attraction for fans and the media.

According to the International Judo Federation (IJF), its calendar for 2022 starts with the Grand Prix of Portugal, from the 28th to the 30th of this month, where the new guidelines will be put into practice. Next come the Grand Slams in Paris (February 5-6), Tel Aviv (February 17-19) and Tbilisi (March 25-27). In April, the competition of the same level will take place in the Turkish city of Antalya (from the 1st to the 3rd), and in May, in the Russian city of Kazan (from the 20th to the 22nd). Düsseldorf will host the Grand Slam between June 4 and 6, while the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, will host it from June 24 to 26, kicking off the Olympic qualifier.

In July, the capitals of Hungary and Croatia will also hold Grand Slam tournaments, from 8 to 10, and from 15 to 17, respectively, to make way, from October 2 to 9, for the 40th edition of the World Championship, with Tashkent , Uzbekistan, as the host city. The calendar will close with the Grand Slams of Abu Dhabi (from October 21 to 23), Baku (from November 4 to 6) and Tokyo (3 and 4).
