Basketball: defeats of the German NBA stars

One day before Christmas, the basketball teams of the German NBA professionals suffered defeats.

Franz Wagner lost with the Orlando Magic on Thursday night (local time) 104: 110 to the New Orleans Pelicans, although the Berliner contributed 20 points, 17 of which he scored in seven minutes in the third quarter.

Orlando’s scramble to catch up was not rewarded. The team remains second to last in the East with seven wins. Franz’s brother Moritz is in the league’s corona protocol and was not used.

This also applies to Maximilian Kleber of Würzburg and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. The Texans, greatly weakened, tied with 95: 102 the straw that broke the camel’s back against the champion Milwaukee Bucks.

On the Houston Rockets, who rank last in the West, Daniel Theis was on the squad, but he didn’t rack up any minutes either. The Rockets lost to the Indiana Pacers 106: 118.

Exceptional Curry, Disappointing Lakers

Once again, Stephen Curry stood out, scoring 46 points in the Golden State Warriors’ 113:104 home win against the Memphis Grizzlies.

On the other hand, the performance of the Los Angeles Lakers was disappointing. Despite LeBron James’ 36 points at home, they didn’t have 110 chances: 138 against the San Antonio Spurs. It was the last game in the arena under the Staples Center name. In the future, the venue will be called the Crypto.com Arena.

New corona rules for the NBA?

The NBA is groaning about numerous corona failures around Christmas and is therefore trying to reach an agreement with the NBPA players’ union to shorten the quarantine period.

Instead of after ten days, players must return to their teams after six days in the event tests are negative. That reported “ESPN”. It was initially unclear whether the regulations would make things easier for teams at the Christmas Games (26 December).

In December, 130 players in the league had to be quarantined, 90 percent of whom had been infected with the Omikron variant of the corona virus, NBA commissioner Adam Silver told ESPN.
