The statue, created by sculptor Dan Medina, was erected on Wednesday in a crash site in the Calabasas Mountains, Los Angeles.

Mr Medina told TMZ Sports that he himself had placed a bronze statue at the top of the hill.

The sculptor has shared photos of the statue in his Instagram account to commemorate the deceased NBA player and others who lost their lives in a fatal accident.

The sculpture depicts a Los Angeles legend of the Lakers, dressed in his team’s uniform, staring warmly at his 13-year-old daughter, Jan, wrapping her arms around her shoulders. Janie shows a smile, holding a basketball in her hand and looking up at her father. The sculpture reads: “Heroes come and go, but legends are eternal.”

“I am committed to doing it every year, and even on his birthday I am ready to do it,” said Mr Medina of TMZ Sports, who believes that such a statue would need to be erected for permanent viewing.

Meanwhile, the star’s widow Vanessa has published a photo on Instagram showing a man kissing her and holding her youngest daughter. The record says “81” and is supplemented with two heart emoticons.

It should be recalled that point 81 was Kobe’s personal record. He earned it in 2006 The Lakers match against the Toronto Raptors Staples Center.

Basketball legend Kobe Braient (1978-2020), his 13-year-old daughter Janna, and six other passengers and the pilot were killed in a plane crash near Calabasa, California, on January 26, 2020. The helicopter flew in thick fog.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Administration (NTSB) has concluded that pilot Ara Zobayan’s decision to fly through the clouds was wrong and that he violated federal standards that the flight must be conducted in a transparent area.

Investigators have concluded that the pilot in the thick clouds has become disoriented, unable to determine his position and the side on which the helicopter is tilted. The decision to fly through the thick clouds was reckless and contrary to what trained pilots should do.

Shortly before the crash, Zobajan told air traffic controllers that he had flown through the clouds and was increasing his altitude, while NTSB investigators concluded that at that time his helicopter “Sikorsky S-76” was tilted and approaching the ground.

The NTSB also notes that the pilot did not submit a backup flight plan and chose not to use the nearest airport to stop in case of adverse weather conditions.

The NTSB report states that between 2010 and 2019, there were a total of 184 aircraft crashes caused by disorientation in the room, 20 of them with fatal consequences.

The NTSB is an independent federal agency that investigates traffic accidents, but has no authority to impose penalties for violations.

In his 20-year career as a brother in the Los Angeles Lakers, Brian became a five-time NBA champion, winning twice the most valuable player in the finals and once again being named regular player in the regular season.
