Arthur Rinderknech qualified for the second round of the Adelaide 2 tournament on Monday. The Frenchman, 58th player in the world, dismissed the American Mackenzie McDonald (6-3, 6-7 , 6-3), ranked 55th at ATP.
A quick break (at 1-0) allowed him to take control in the first set. Rinderknech then narrowly gave way in the next round. In the third set, he opened his way to qualification, taking McDonald’s serve at 4-3.
In the next round, Arthur Rinderknech will face the winner of the match between South Korea’s Kwon Soon-woo and South Africa’s No. 5 seed Lloyd Harris.
