The young people and their representatives asked the highest regional authority to manage a venue for the championship that is expected to be carried out at the end of January, to which the governor replied that the corresponding management will be made through the University of Tarapacá.

Constanza Ruminot (17), player and national preselected of the Machine Ladys team, said that “the championship will serve a lot to make us known, we have been in different championships. I advise young people to motivate themselves, join a club or team, motivate themselves to project themselves, to be someone at the sports level ”.

Freddy Lohse, president of the Arica Basketball Association and coach of the Machine Ladys Sports Club, explained that “our visit is to let us know, that the governor knows our future objectives, that he knows our work in the region, in addition to requesting him the support to continue working on tools that we lack to fulfill our objectives ”.

The regional governor, Jorge Díaz Ibarra, commented that “today we received the visit of 2 basketball teams Machine Ladys and Abraham Lincoln School that have been protagonists of many championships. They have represented the region and they will also hold two championships, where they will receive teams from other regions of the country and they came to the Regional Government to present themselves since we could also accompany them in some requests that they lacked for one of the championships it could be developed and happily we have been able to help them ”.

He added that “we are hopeful that all sporting activities can be resumed, with the necessary conditions and requirements, but that means that we have to continue committing ourselves to sport. That is the commitment, that the seedbed can continue to grow and have a space in Arica and be a capital of sports tourism in the region ”.
