according to the latest news, Joel Embiid has taken up curling

It’s the little tradition of Monday evening: the best players of the week. The NBA has just revealed the lucky winners for their exploits of the last seven days and it is the duo Nikola JokicTrae Young who wins the day. We know one on the side of Philadelphia who must be angry…

You guessed it, we’re talking about Jojo, mister Joel Embiid. Obviously, it’s not enough to go out for a week in 40 points – 11 rebounds – 4 assists – 1 block at 58% shooting including 57% from the parking lot and 84% from the free throw line. Because yes, it is the line of stats of the pivot of the Sixers on the last four games of Philly, he who ate the Magic alive (50 points – 12 rebounds in 27 minutes) before putting down 40 pawns – 13 rebounds on the head of the Clippers then a 38-12 oklm against the Spurs. The cause behind this snub? You don’t have to look far. The Sixers have won only two of the four games played since last Monday, while friend Trae Young is coming off a perfect week with his Hawks. Four games, four wins. For once Atlanta finishes undefeated, you have to take advantage of it. Well, we’re not going to say that Ice Trae stole his trophy, are we. Because if Embiid was individually the craziest player in the East last week, the leader of the Hawks also did dirty. Check the numbers a bit: 31.3 points, 4 rebounds, 9 caviars, 1 interception, all at 46.4% shooting including 47.6% parking and 91.1% throwing. A very very serious production in the image of Ice Trae’s XXL campaign, and above all a production that allowed the Hawks to get back on track with quality wins against Milwaukee, Minnesota, Miami and Charlotte. Not sure, however, that that’s enough to convince Joel…

On the other side of the States, it is Nikola Jokic who wins the jackpot. There too, there can be debate (hello Luka Doncic) but if there is one thing that everyone agrees on today, it’s the incredible level of the Joker. Here are his stats for the last week (wet your neck): 36.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 10 assists, 2.3 steals and 1 against on average at 65% in shooting including 40% in 3-pointers and 86.2% in free throws. Just huge! Among his most outstanding performances, Jokic notably put the Clippers in misery with a quiet 49-14-10 performance. Led by Serbian genius, the Nuggets still keep their heads above water as they come out of a week with two wins in three games which allows them to keep a positive record (24 wins – 21 losses) and a place in the Top 6 of the Western Conference. Not nothing when you know that Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are still squatting in the infirmary. In the race for a new MVP trophy, the Joker is named “player of the week” for the first time only this season, which is borderline shocking when you see the monstrous campaign of the guy. But if he continues to play at this level all-time, it will surely not be the last time…

Nikola Jokic et Joel Embiid Trae Young, here are the two winners of the week. A word of advice, if you come across a Sixers fan in the street, avoid approaching him because he could be unleashed on the first comer…
