The team of Youngsters head coach Marjo Heinemann won against SC Rist Wedel 84:77 (37:35) in the home basketball center and took over the championship lead in relegation group 1.

The Juniors played at eye level with the Oldenburgers in the first section and improved in the second quarter, so that they went into the half-time break with a 34:29 lead. In the second half the Göttingen got more and more problems on the offensive. Well-played throws did not fall, a few light lay-ups went wrong. The guests took advantage of this to go in the front before the final quarter (43:44). In the last section, the Oldenburg team secured victory. “We were actually the better team, but we didn’t reach our normal level offensively,” said head coach Venelin Berov after the game. “I am still satisfied with our development, which is going in the right direction.” – Juniors: Larsen (7), Zelanto Vorsovsky (13), Adje (2), Christou (3), Herbst (11), Dahm, Dohrmann ( 9), Jaschanica, Mindermann (4), Wagner-Berger (2).

The youngsters showed their best performance of the season so far against Rist Wedel. After the Göttingen team was just behind after the first quarter, they turned up in the second section and took the lead at half-time (37:35). The home side retained this in the third quarter and won safely in the end. “The few ball losses and good pass decisions – even under pressure – were the key to success,” said Heinemann after the game. Due to the direct comparison gained, the Veilchen offspring are now tied for first place with Rist Wedel. – Youngsters: E. Bingert (2), J. Bingert (16), Töllner (3), Börü (15), Bode (25), Nguyen (19), Claus, Gibhardt, Göbel (4).
