‘World Badminton Big Hand’ Chairman Kang Young-joong, donated to a prospect again after 10 years

Young-joong Kang, president of the World Youth Culture Foundation, who served as the president of the World Badminton Federation (BWF), made a meaningful donation again for the first time in 10 years for junior players.

The foundation announced on the 28th that “Chairman Kang donated the ‘I-Level Cup’, a trophy for the World Junior Badminton Championships.” A golden trophy with a shape reminiscent of a key with the meaning of ‘the dreamers of sports have a key’, and the names of the winners of the World Junior Badminton Championships and the winners can be permanently engraved by adding the name tag of the winners.

The i-Level Cup was made for permanent preservation, and a total of 5 trophies and cases were also produced for 5 badminton sports, including singles, doubles, and mixed events. Chairman Kang served as the president of the World Badminton Federation (BWF) from 2005 to 2013, and was appointed as honorary vice-president for life. In November 2011, he had already donated the I-Level Cup to the World Junior Badminton Championships. The trophy, which was donated again after 10 years, was produced by the Daekyo Group’s foundation, the World Youth Culture Foundation, and delivered to the BWF Secretariat this month.

Starting with the World Junior Badminton Championships to be held in Huelba, Spain on October 17 next year, each host country will tour each year for the next 10 years, and the name of the winning country and the winner will be engraved. An official from the foundation said, “Chairman Young-joong Kang produced and donated this trophy for the second time following 2011 to discover and support promising badminton players around the world.” We will support the dreams of young dream trees through various purposeful projects for young people around the world, such as sponsoring the dream tree.”
