The shutdown of operations in major league baseball appears to have suited the Los Angeles Dodgers like a glove. Why this?

This Thursday began a work stoppage on the Major League Baseball (MLB), a decision made by the league’s owners after failing to reach an agreement with the players’ association. The indirect beneficiary of all this is, perhaps, Los angeles dodgers.

They all knew it was going to be a tricky offseason for the World Series champion team in 2020, where they had the difficult mission of keeping several of its big names within the city, who entered free agency.

Needless to say, this was not fully achieved, being the utility Chris Taylor the only one who signed with the group led by Dave Roberts. There are still months of negotiation between the league and players, but it certainly came at a good time for the Dodgers this stop.

What Los Angeles lost and may lose

It was a tough week for Dodgers fans, not only because of the uncertainty of knowing if there will be a season or not, but also because the team lost three of its top figures in Max Scherzer, Corey Seager y Corey Knebel.

The Dodgers have yet to make decisions: Kenley Jansen was rumored these days as a possible target by the Miami Marlins. In addition, Los Angeles will have to define the situations of Clayton Kershaw and Joe Kelly, key parts of the World Series title in 2020.
