“We have to come to terms with it and hope that it will only be for a few weeks and then we will see light again at the end of the tunnel,” said BBL managing director Stefan Holz to the news portal watson.

The BBL is already struggling with a sharp drop in audience numbers. “Compared to the pre-Corona period in 2019, the 18 clubs have seen a total of almost exactly a third decrease in attendance,” said league boss Holz. The best clubs would have a minus of 15 percent, other teams even minus 60 percent fewer fans in the hall.
