Vitória joins Walking Football to make the sport more dynamic

Vitória will boost the modality of Walking Football, after having responded affirmatively to the challenge launched by Cooperativa Tempo Livre. That cooperative launched the challenge to several clubs from Guimarães, in a context in which it intends to catapult the modality aimed at people over 55 years of age. Vitória responded affirmatively to the challenge, as well as Pevidém and Berço, so they moved towards the creation of a team.

The presentation of the Walking Football modality took place this Monday, with Miguel Pinto Lisboa launching the challenge to the club’s former players, now “young promises”. “It’s a project that allows people to integrate into our family”, he said, while emphasizing the sporting aspect: “We always want to win and present results”, he noted.

Amadeu Portilha, from Tempo Livre was present at the ceremony, highlighting the idea that Vitória “has all the conditions to develop the project in the municipality”. “There is a passing on of testimony for the clubs, to whom we hope they can have the greatest success”, he said, after Jorge Baptista had already listed the advantages of the new modality for those over 55 years old.

Former Vitória players, such as Tito, Chico Rodrigues, Peres, Alfredo Magalhães, Costeado and Laureta, participated in the action to publicize the Walking Football modality, alongside Diogo Queirós.
