Rafhael Varane returns to Manchester United 50 days later. The center-back suffered a muscle injury on November 2 and returns for tonight’s match against him Newcastle after almost two months off the pitch.
The French footballer fits, a priori, very well in the profile of Ralf Rangnick, after failing to improve Solskjaer’s defense as expected with his signing. Varane’s season has been interrupted twice by injury and he has participated in only nine games. United were improving defensively without him and will now have to earn the job.
The ‘Red Devils’ are seventh in the standings with 27 points and will seek their fourth consecutive victory in the Premier League, while Newcastle are in the relegation zone and have lost their last three games against Leicester, Liverpool and Manchester City.
