UEFA decides the fate of Spurs, threatens to be expelled. It would help Sparta too

Tottenham football is in big trouble. The London club is ruled by a covid-19 and has been postponed, among other things, a match in the European Conference League with Rennes, which may be a problem. UEFA has decided not to finish the match and quite possibly the Spurs will be kicked out of the third European league.

In the cabin of the former finalist of the Champions League, the covid-19 is raging, and because of this, the European Conference League match with Rennes was postponed. The players of the French team did not like it and described the act in words like “unilateral decision” a “Lack of fair play.” It was an important match especially for Tottenham, who had to win to advance.

UEFA said that negotiations on a new date took place between the two clubs, but no final solution was found. “As a result, the match can no longer be played and the matter will therefore be referred to UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body for a decision to be taken in accordance with the Annex to the above competition rules,” stands in the position of the organization.

Consideration should be given to whether Tottenham had enough players to play the match, as well as whether the clubs were willing to find a new date. Rennes is basically nothing, he was a clear winner before the last match in the group. Tottenham is losing three points to advance and would have to win the last duel, and in the playoffs he could run into Prague’s Sparta.
