Thibaut Courtois is currently on holiday in Dubai, so a visit to the Nusr-Et Steakhouse of the famous Turkish butcher-chef Nusret Gökçe should not be missed. Gökçe became an internet phenomenon by cutting and salting meat in a theatrical way: he sprinkles the salt with a bent wrist via the forearm over the meat. You have undoubtedly already seen it on Facebook, Instagram, You Tube or some meme. He now has several branches, but the one in the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai appeals to the imagination the most.

Due to its popularity, celebrities from all over the world flock to eat at “Salt Bae”: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Mo Salah, David Beckham, Leonardo Di Caprio, Naomi Campbell, Snoop Dogg and you name it.

The meat is salty at Nusr-Et, the bill peppered. In October of this year, a bill from a party of four at a London facility made headlines. One of the dishes the foursome ordered was the tomahawk steak wrapped in gold leaf that Courtois also ordered, costing 850 pounds or about 1,000 euros. The final bill of the dinner with a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé and three bottles of Château Pétrus was 37,023 pounds or almost 44,000 euros.

As befits when celebrities are guests, “Salt Bae” personally cut the meat at the table with Thibaut Courtois and his girlfriend Mishel Gerzig. Courtois was allowed to salt the meat and was fed a piece of tomahawk by the Turkish chef. Then they took a picture.
