Early in the morning on December 1, the registration period was open to take part in the fourteenth edition of the Xtreme Lagos de Covadonga Marathon that will be elucidated on May 14 of the next financial year 2022, with the start time of the race at 9:00 am in the El Repelao de Covadonga area (Cangas de Onís). The race consists of 42 kilometers in the middle of the mountain and an accumulated unevenness of more than 6,000 meters. The maximum quota has been established at 300 numbers.
The Xtreme Lagos de Covadonga Marathon runs through the lands of the Picos de Europa National Park, passing through the following places: Cruz de Priena, La Guesera, surrounding border of Vega de Comeya, Escaleru, Buferrera area, Lake Ercina, Picu Bricial, Shepherds Refuge, La Porra de Enol, Fana, Severín, Orandi, Covadonga, Peñalba, Ñajuentes, Pozobal, Següencu Viewpoint, San Antoniu Chapel, Aula de la Monarquía (Cangues de Arriba) and goal in the center of the city of Cangas de Onís.
That same day will also take place the III MiniXtreme that will depart from Cangas de Onís at 10.30 am, with a route of 14 kilometers and an accumulated difference of 2,000 meters, also with a quota of 300 athletes. It runs outside the limits of the protected natural space, passing through El Cascayu, La Valleya, Valdegranda, Blanqueo, Vega Oñañes, Repetidor de Següencu, Nieda, Capilla de San Antoniu, Aula de la Monarquía (Cangues de Arriba) until reaching the banner finish line, located in the heart of the old capital of the Kingdom of Asturias.
