The council led by Igor Emery took stock of his first months in office at the head of the Irundarra entity

The Royal Union’s board of directors approved yesterday a budget of 2.1 million euros (2,069,066.42) for the academic year 2022. The first ordinary general meeting of the new managers was held at the Ficoba fairgrounds with the 55 45% of the shareholders represented.

All items on the agenda were approved unanimously, including the one corresponding to the accounts for the 2020/21 financial year. It closed with losses of 228,126 euros derived mainly from premiums to the first team and Covid.

The maximum unionist president, Igor Emery, explained that the budget for the first team is 1,590,000 euros. The expenses chapter includes 111,094 euros for the training area, 123,491 for the management area, 172,748 for the maintenance of the facilities, 26,000 for the communication area and 45,000 for the financing area.

In the income section, the secretary Josu Reta broke down the 360,000 corresponding to retransmission rights, the 200,000 for sponsorships and advertising or the 150,000 for subscriptions. In terms of subsidies, 250,000 will come from the Royal Society, 150,000 from the Provincial Council, 134,328 from the Irun City Council and 30,000 from Kirolgi. The club has undertaken a capital increase of 1.2 million euros in recent months.

As challenges for the future, the council cited “the dream of a sports city or the need to expand Gal’s capacity.”
